What real people are doing to make money?

 I talked to a cleaning lady who is renting out one room in her house for $350 a month and she is collecting items and having one garage sale each month, she finds items on craigs list and she tells everyone she meets what she is doing, so people give her things to sell. Between the two things she is bringing in an extra $500 to $800 a month. She is trying to save half of that money for her next step up the wealth ladder.

A trucking company owner (flat bed long hauls) is buying three new trucks for a total fleet of 18 and he claims he could use more if the financing was only better. He said there is plenty of business if you only give the clients what they want, in his case that is fast service, so he runs two drivers per truck on a twenty four-seven schedule. He claims he is in the service business, and trucks just allow him to supply the service. I met this 32 year old trucking company owner in front of his new home which is under construction. $600K and he is paying cash for it. What else is he investing in besides trucks?, Gold 5% of his profits, he thinks UNCLE SAM is over extended and that gold will double in five years. Each truck makes a profit of about $25K per year, it took this young man 9 years to get to where he felt his Company wasn't living on the edge of insolvency. Success doesn't come over night.

A motel owner in a small town (young early thirties couple) had really slow room rentals during mid week so every Wednesday is garage sale day, and he rents the parking lot to locals, he is bringing in an extra $350 a week. They are going to use the extra funds to make real estate investments.

My friendly local post office Clerk (a women) is trading stock futures part time. She started with $5,000 and has made $3,000 profit so far this year.
