Opportunity, it happens everyday

                          Opportunity, it happens everyday.

Every time you hear of something happening or see something occur, ask yourself one question. “How can someone make money from that” Almost everything that happens is an opportunity to make money.

If you do this long enough it becomes a way of thinking, a habit.

Lets say you hear a news article that Amazon is coming out with an electronic book reader, a few weeks later you hear another company will have one out by Christmas. You assume that with all this free publicity that electronic book readers will be a hot Christmas item. You buy 1000 shares of Amazon in November, in December Amazon announces that the reader is the hottest item this year, (was that a predictable press release, or what?). Amazon stock goes up and you sell fast or put in a stop loss order to protect your profit. That is “thinking rich” put into action.

Example: The Stock market hit a low in February 2009. For months the stock market decline had been in the news, people where beginning to speculate on where the bottom was. Newscaster where spouting out how much everyone had lost on the way down. The news was doom and gloom, but just maybe there was some light ahead. The speculation was about if we had hit bottom yet.

The mutual fund withdraws had slowed down. So one must ask themselves where is all that 401K retirement money being deducted from all those millions of working people's paychecks going every month? The money was still out there, so where is there? What where all those experts going to do with all that money? What have they done historically and what alternatives where there. The only conclusion was that it was going back into stocks and the only question was when.
I put $18,000 (all the cash I had at the time) in the stock market and made $20,000 on it in four months. That is thinking rich in action.

As I write this in at the end of 2009 real estate prices have been down for over a year and people are starting to talk about the bottom being hit. I am putting in offers on bargain priced apartments at this time and will take all I can get financed. Why? Because people always need a place to live and housing has shelter value. The prices will go back up in a few years and I want to make another chunk of change from what I know will happen. Some parts of the future are predictable.

Everyday there is opportunity around you. Open your eyes and see, open your ears and listen, open your mind and think. The questions are; Someone will benefit from this? How can they benefit form this? Why shouldn't it be me? Ask these questions long enough, often enough and you will be thinking rich.

Example: I was asked by my nephew to go along with him as he shopped for a manufactured house. I was sitting inn the lobby of the sales center waiting for him when a lady came in wanting to sell her mobile home. The manager said they did not buy them. I followed her out and got her phone number.

The next week I purchased her used mobile home. See making money with mobile homes for the rest of the story.
